Moroccan Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali wins 3000m steeplechase in Poland

Moroccan double Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali claimed victory in the 3000m steeplechase at the Silesia meeting in Poland, the 12th stage of the Diamond League.

El Bakkali crossed the finish line in 8 minutes and 4.29 seconds, securing a narrow win over Kenya's Amos Serem (8:04.29) and Ethiopia's Samuel Firewu (8:04.34).

The Moroccan champion recently retained his Olympic title in the 3000m steeplechase at the Paris Olympics, adding to his gold medal from the Tokyo Games.
