Nasser Bourita, Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, is representing King Mohammed VI at the second Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF), taking place in Bali on September 2-3.

The second IAF, themed «Bandung Spirit for Africa's Agenda 2063», was inaugurated on Monday by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, with the presence of several heads of state, government leaders, and African ministers.

The Forum aims to strengthen economic cooperation between Indonesia and the African continent, which is considered a key economic partner for the Asian country, building on the success of the first IAF in 2018.

During the event, participants will discuss how to establish an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable relationship between Indonesia and Africa.

In 1955, Indonesia hosted the Asia-Africa Conference in Bandung, 180 km southeast of Jakarta. This historic meeting gave rise to the Bandung spirit, a set of principles aimed at promoting national sovereignty, equality between nations, and international cooperation free from foreign interference.

It also laid the groundwork for enduring cooperation between the nations of Asia and Africa, promoting values of justice, solidarity, and mutual respect.
