Fifty-two out of 57 road sections damaged by floods and torrential rains were reopened to traffic as of 5 p.m. on Monday, according to the Equipment and Water Ministry.

The heavy rains, which impacted several provinces from September 6-9, had initially closed these 57 road sections across the provinces of Assa-Zag, Al Haouz, Boulemane, Taroudant, Tinghir, Sidi Ifni, Chichaoua, Figuig, Tata, Zagora, Guelmim, Midelt, and Ouarzazate, the ministry stated in a press release.

On September 6, the ministry deployed nearly 200 personnel, including engineers, technicians, vehicle operators, and workers, along with over 100 earthmoving machines such as graders, loaders, bulldozers, and trucks.

The ministry emphasized that it remains mobilized to reopen the remaining road sections as soon as possible, particularly National Road No. 10 between Bouarfa and Bouanan, and National Road No. 12 between Foum Zguid and Zagora.
