Effective September 18, 2024, Schengen visa applicants seeking services from the French consular service in Morocco through TLScontact must now undergo video call identification at the Rabat visa center.

This new procedure has been implemented to safeguard applicants against fraudulent and costly third-party booking agencies. The appointment scheduling subcontractor aims to ensure fair and equitable access to appointments for all legitimate visa applicants.

The types of visas affected by this change include family visits (first application), tourism and private visits (first application), academic stays (first application), business travel (first application), salaried internships (first application), and cultural, artistic, scientific, and sporting events, including one-off missions (first application). Employees in the service of a foreigner or a French national (first application) must also complete video identification.

Applicants are required to complete their visa application form on the France-Visas website, register on the TLScontact website, and provide the necessary information for their visa application. Upon validation of the application for one of the specified visa types, users will be redirected to a confirmation screen indicating that their application has been processed.

The company's call center will then contact applicants to schedule a video call for identity verification. During the video call, applicants will be required to present their passport to the camera. Following successful verification, applicants will receive an email with the results and will be provided with an appointment to submit their visa application.
