Following royal instructions, the Moroccan government has announced a comprehensive program to rehabilitate areas affected by recent flooding in the southeastern region of the country.

The program, with a total budget of nearly 2.5 billion dirhams, will focus on repairing damaged buildings, infrastructure, and essential services such as roads, telecommunications, electricity, drinking water, and sanitation.

To support the recovery of agricultural activities, the program will also include the repair of small and medium-scale hydraulic structures and provide assistance to livestock farmers who lost their herds due to the floods.

Since early September, heavy rainfall has caused widespread flooding, resulting in loss of life and significant property damage in the provinces of Errachidia, Midelt, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Zagora, Figuig, Jerada, Taroudant, Tata, Tiznit, Guelmim, and Assa Zag.
