Remittances from Moroccans living abroad reached 81 billion dirhams by the end of August 2024, up from 77.96 billion dirhams during the same period last year, according to the Exchange Office.
This represents a 3.9 percent increase (an additional 3 billion dirhams) compared to the first eight months of 2023, the office reported in its latest bulletin on foreign trade indicators.
The bulletin also highlighted a 2.8 percent decline in the services balance surplus, which fell to 88.19 billion dirhams. This was due to a 14.3 percent rise in service imports, surpassing the 5.3 percent increase in service exports.
Travel revenues for the same period amounted to 76.40 billion dirhams, while travel expenditures totaled 19.80 billion dirhams.
