Ahmed Reda Chami was appointed by King Mohammed VI on Friday as Morocco's Ambassador to the European Union (EU) in Brussels. He holds an engineering degree from the École Centrale de Paris (1985) and an MBA from the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management, University of California, Los Angeles - UCLA (1989). In February 2016, he was appointed Morocco's Permanent Representative to the EU in Brussels.
Since December 3, 2018, he has been President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE). Born on May 16, 1961, in Casablanca, Ahmed Reda Chami was also Minister of Industry, Trade, and New Technologies in the Abbas El Fassi government (2007-2011), then a Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) deputy for the city of Fez (from 2011 to February 2016).
Ahmed Reda Chami has also held several positions within the multinational Microsoft, including manager for North and West Africa and Southeast Asia.
