Two Moroccan soldiers killed in mine explosion in the Sahara

Two soldiers of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) were killed on Thursday, December 12, in a mine explosion in the Sahara. The incident occurred during a mine-clearing operation regularly conducted by the FAR in the Touizgui locality, as detailed in a press release published on X.

The area is located in Assa-Zag province within the Guelmim-Oued Noun region. A third soldier, injured in the explosion, was evacuated to the Moulay El Hassan military hospital in Guelmim, according to the same source.

The Royal Armed Forces expressed their «most sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the two deceased soldiers, asking Almighty God to welcome them into His Holy Mercy and grant their families patience and solace. They also prayed for the injured soldier’s swift recovery».
