The leader of the Polisario Front is set to unveil his new residence in the Tindouf camps in Algeria, as revealed in a social media post by Said Zarwal, a Sweden-based Sahrawi dissident critical of the Front’s current leadership. Photos of the new building accompanied the announcement.

Zarwal alleges that the construction of this grand residence, which began in 2022, cost over 600 million Algerian dinars, equivalent to approximately €3.95 million. Known for his staunch opposition to Morocco, Zarwal mentions that Brahim Ghali might move into his new home following the Polisario’s 17th congress, slated for the upcoming months.

Following Lahbib Mohamed Abdelaziz's death on June 7 in a strike reportedly carried out by a Moroccan drone, the current leader's likelihood of pursuing a fourth term seems to have increased.

It's noteworthy that before the separatist movement declared its «war» against Morocco on November 13, 2020, Brahim Ghali had plans to construct his residence in Bir Lahlou, located east of the Sand Wall, which the Polisario considers its «administrative capital».
