Moroccan fighter Oussama Assli successfully defended his Karate Combat world title in the 77 kg category, clinching his Gold Belt on Friday, July 24, in Miami, USA. He delivered a stunning first-round knockout against Brazil's Lucas Martins, a former UFC competitor and ex-BRAVE CF lightweight champion.

Announcing the triumph, the fighter’s team stated, «This was his first title defense since claiming the world crown in December 2025, following a five-round faceoff with Australia’s James Honey.» A written statement sent to Yabiladi added, «With this latest victory, Oussama Assli maintains his unbeaten streak in Karate Combat, solidifying his status among the organization’s top champions.»

Oussama Assli dedicated his win to King Mohammed VI and «all Moroccans around the world», celebrating «the ongoing achievements of Moroccan sports on the global stage», which are now reaching beyond football to include «other disciplines, particularly combat sports».
