Moroccans with Schengen or U.S. visas can now enter Peru visa-free

Peru has exempted Moroccan nationals holding valid ordinary passports and a valid Schengen or U.S. visa from the tourist visa requirement.

The measure was adopted under Supreme Decree No. 033-2026-RE, published on July 25 in the country's Official Gazette, El Peruano, local media reported.

Under the new rules, eligible Moroccan citizens may stay in Peru for up to 183 days within a one-year period, either continuously or through consecutive visits, provided that both their passport and qualifying visa are valid for at least six months upon entry.

The Peruvian government said the decision was adopted under the principle of reciprocity, noting that Morocco has granted visa-free entry to Peruvian holders of ordinary passports traveling for tourism since 2017. The decree was signed by President José María Balcázar and Foreign Minister Carlos Pareja.
