A partnership agreement was signed on Saturday in Rabat to launch a national program aimed at training children in digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).
The agreement brings together Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform; Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication; Fouzi Lekjaa, Deputy Minister in charge of the Budget; and Ibtissam Khamlichi, representative of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
As part of the «Digital Morocco 2030» initiative, this program seeks to equip young generations with essential digital skills, promote the responsible use of new technologies, and bridge the digital divide between different social and regional groups.
The signatories have committed to introducing children to technological tools and AI-related concepts, raising awareness about best practices and the ethical challenges of digital technology, and fostering inclusion by ensuring equitable access to training.
According to Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, the program will benefit 200,000 children across Morocco. The first phase will target children aged 8 to 14 before expanding to those aged 15 to 18. It will be rolled out in twelve youth centers—one per region—with specialized training for supervisors to ensure a smooth nationwide implementation.
In addition to training sessions, the program will include modules on emerging technologies, practical workshops to develop digital skills, and initiatives to promote inclusion in both rural and urban areas.
