COSUMAR reports substantial growth in planted areas for the 2024/2025 agricultural season, with national production expected to reach 330,000 tons of white sugar. The company has launched preparations for the next season with plans to increase production to 600,000 tons by 2026, reinforcing Morocco's food sovereignty.

Despite early-year drought, the sugar industry planted 40,000 hectares across five regions. March and April rains improved yields and sugar content in crops.

The growth stems from widespread adoption of advanced agricultural technologies: drones, smart sensors, precision irrigation, and targeted fertilization. These innovations have reduced water consumption by up to 55% and fertilizer use by 30%, while improving economic and environmental performance.

For 2025/2026, COSUMAR plans to plant 68,500 hectares, including 60,000 hectares of sugar beet—a 50% increase from the current campaign. This expansion will secure domestic market needs while enabling exports, supporting the Group's goal to export 1 million tons annually from 2026.
