The Moroccan polo team clinched victory in the fifth edition of the Mohammed VI International Trophy, organized by the Royal Moroccan Federation of the discipline, by defeating their Egyptian counterparts 5.5 to 4 in the final held on Sunday at the Royal Guard Polo Club in Rabat.

In a thrilling match that began with an opening strike by Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports, the Moroccan players struggled during the first two chukkers but turned the tide at the start of the third.

Once in the lead, the Moroccan team—comprising Sidi Mohamed Elmhamdi, Zouhair Lachgar, Moulay Abdeslame El Hanafi, Mario Gomez, and Zaki Bouslikhan—maintained their advantage until the final whistle. The match was notably attended by a large audience. Following the game, Moulay Abdellah Alaoui presented the trophy to the captain of the national team.

The event was also attended by Major General Abdelaziz Chatar, commander of the Royal Guard and president of the Royal Moroccan Polo Federation, as well as Mohamed Yacoubi, Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region and governor of the Rabat prefecture.

This edition of the Trophy brought together teams from countries with strong reputations in the polo world. Besides Morocco, participating nations included the United Kingdom, Egypt, the United States, Oman, Azerbaijan, Spain, and France.

Beyond its sporting significance, the Trophy embodies Morocco's ambition to promote polo and showcase the excellence of its sports infrastructure on the international stage, while strengthening bonds of friendship with the participating countries.
