The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued a warning for a heatwave set to hit several Moroccan provinces from Sunday through Friday, accompanied by stormy showers, hail, and strong winds.

The DGM's orange-level alert bulletin indicates that temperatures between 40 and 44°C are expected on Sunday and Monday in the provinces of Tata, Zagora, Khouribga, Ouezzane, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknès, El Hajeb, Fès, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, and Taza.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the heatwave is predicted to persist in the provinces of Rehamna, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Zagora, Taroudant, Taounate, Taza, Moulay Yacoub, Meknès, Fès, Fquih Ben Salah, and Beni Mellal.

From Tuesday to Friday, even higher temperatures ranging from 44 to 47°C are expected in the provinces of Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, and Aousserd.

In addition, stormy showers with hail and gusty winds, bringing 15 to 30 mm of rain, are anticipated on Sunday between 2 PM and 11 PM in the provinces of Azilal, Figuig, Khénifra, Boulemane, Midelt, Tinghir, Errachidia, and Ifrane.
