The National Airports Office (ONDA) marked National Migrant Day, celebrated on August 10, with festivities dedicated to Moroccans living abroad returning home for the summer. Cultural activities, Moroccan hospitality, and coordinated services set the tone for the day, reflecting the nation’s attachment to and appreciation for Moroccans around the world.
This year’s celebration coincided with the 25th edition of the Marhaba operation, led by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. In this context, ONDA implemented what it described as «an exceptional welcome setup, combining efficiency, humanity, and proximity».
Since June 10, 2025, airports across the Kingdom have been mobilized to manage the seasonal peak in passenger traffic, with all institutional partners, the DGSN, the Royal Gendarmerie, Ministry of Interior services, Customs, and airport authorities, working together to ensure a smooth, secure, and warm welcome for returning Moroccans.
This enhanced arrangement has resulted in smoother passenger flows, shorter waiting times, and an improved travel experience, thanks to attention to the smallest details. The 2025 Marhaba operation also marks a milestone: for the first time, the airports of Laâyoune and Dakhla are hosting spaces dedicated to the Mohammed V Foundation.
ONDA also emphasized the presence of local public service counters within airports, giving returning Moroccans direct access to information and services that may benefit their personal or family projects from the moment they arrive.
This mobilization forms part of ONDA’s Airports 2030 strategy, which aims to transform Moroccan airports into «spaces of life, services, and national pride».
