In the aftermath of last Wednesday's turmoil in the Sidi Taibi area of Kenitra province, where public safety was severely compromised by incidents of looting, violence, and the destruction of both public and private properties, as well as deliberate arson, 17 individuals have been brought before the prosecutor at the Kenitra Court of Appeal on Saturday, according to a statement from the public prosecutor's office.
The group comprises eight adults who have been taken into custody and nine minors who are under detention at the Royal Gendarmerie's judicial center, the statement added.
In this context, an investigation has been launched against four adults suspected of criminal acts, alongside seven minors. Meanwhile, six other individuals, including two minors, have been referred to the prosecutor at the Kenitra Court of First Instance.
The prosecutor has ordered the detention of all suspects pending the completion of a comprehensive investigation. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
