Morocco ranked 22nd worldwide for international tourist arrivals in 2025, welcoming 19.8 million visitors, according to the latest edition of the World Tourism Barometer published by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy announced.
The ministry said the Kingdom gained three places in the global ranking in just one year and has climbed 12 positions compared with 2019.
Morocco also improved its standing in terms of international tourism receipts, moving from 32nd to 31st place globally, with revenues reaching $14.8 billion in 2025.
According to the ministry, these results reflect the ongoing transformation of the tourism sector and the impact of the Tourism Roadmap launched in 2023. The strategy has helped accelerate the development of air connectivity, diversify the tourism offering, expand accommodation capacity, improve the visitor experience and strengthen workforce skills.
The momentum has continued into 2026. During the first quarter, Morocco recorded nearly 7% growth in tourist arrivals, more than three times the global average of 2%, according to UN Tourism.
Quoted in the statement, Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor said the results «encourage us to continue the efforts already under way across all areas of the tourism ecosystem in order to firmly position Morocco among the world’s leading tourist destinations by 2030».
