Saudi low-cost carrier flynas will launch direct flights between Rabat and Jeddah starting July 4, becoming the first Saudi airline to operate a non-stop route between the two cities, according to a press release issued on Thursday.

The airline will operate one weekly flight between the Moroccan and Saudi cities, adding to its existing Casablanca–Jeddah route, which was launched in 2023 and currently operates three times a week.

flynas said the new service is intended to expand its network between Saudi Arabia and Morocco, offer greater travel flexibility to passengers and meet growing demand between the two countries.

The move forms part of the airline's strategy to strengthen its presence in the African market and support Saudi Arabia's National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to increase passenger traffic to 330 million travelers and connect the Kingdom to 250 international destinations by 2030.

The route is also expected to contribute to the objectives of Saudi Arabia's Pilgrim Experience Program by facilitating travel for Umrah performers and visitors to the holy sites through King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
