An exhibition highlighting Morocco’s ancestral craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage opened on Monday in New Jersey on the sidelines of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Held at the American Dream Mall, just a short distance from MetLife Stadium, where the Atlas Lions played their opening match of the tournament on Saturday, the exhibition was organized by the Chamber of Handicrafts of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region in partnership with Morocco’s Consulate General in New York.
According to the organizers, the initiative aims to promote Moroccan craftsmanship internationally and strengthen its presence in global markets. The exhibition offers American and international visitors an opportunity to discover products that reflect the richness, authenticity and diversity of Morocco’s traditional heritage.
In a statement, the Chamber of Handicrafts of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region said the event is designed to support traditional know-how, expand access to foreign markets and showcase Morocco’s artisanal products to a wider audience.
Speaking to MAP, Morocco’s Consul General in New York, Mohamed Ait Bihi, said the initiative highlights Morocco’s cultural influence and showcases the country’s ongoing socio-economic and development progress.
He added that the exhibition, held shortly after celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of Moroccan-American relations, is also intended to foster partnerships between economic operators from both countries.
The exhibition features a wide range of Moroccan crafts, including traditional garments, Sahrawi attire, carpets, leather goods and zellige mosaic art.
