Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi welcomed his team’s qualification for the next round of the World Cup after their 4-2 win over Haiti, stressing that the victory was above all the result of collective strength. «I am satisfied. We won the match and secured our qualification. That is what matters most», he said at the post-match press conference.
The national coach was keen to highlight the contribution of the entire squad, rather than dwell on individual performances. «I’m not going to talk about individuals. The whole group did an excellent job. Some players had not had much playing time until now, but they delivered when called upon», he said.
Ouahbi also emphasized the sense of balance and complementarity within the Moroccan squad. «We do not have starters and substitutes. We have a complementary group in which every player fulfils his role perfectly when he comes on. The goals scored today by Rahimi and Gessime are a perfect illustration of that», he explained.
The Moroccan coach said his team’s main strength lies in its unity and mindset. «We have a very good team. Our strength is the group. We respect all our opponents, but we fear no one, and we approach every match with the ambition to win it», he said.
Reflecting on the preparations for the match, Ouahbi noted that his staff had planned for every possible scenario. «We were prepared for all eventualities. Whatever our position in the standings, our objective remains the same: to preserve the cohesion of the group, analyse our opponents seriously and give everything on the pitch», he concluded.
