The Consulate General of Morocco in London organized a mobile consular service on Saturday for members of the Moroccan community living in Birmingham and the wider Midlands region.
The initiative, aimed at bringing consular services closer to Moroccans living abroad, is part of the special attention King Mohammed VI continues to devote to the Moroccan diaspora. It also aligns with the directives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates to strengthen services for Moroccans residing overseas.
During the operation, the consulate delivered around 500 consular services, including the issuance and renewal of biometric passports, processing applications for the National Electronic Identity Card (CNIE), civil registry services, document legalization and certification, notarial and administrative procedures, as well as information and guidance on the full range of consular services.
The mobile consulate also provided an opportunity for direct engagement with members of the Moroccan community, allowing officials to listen to their concerns, respond to their needs and strengthen trust between the consular administration and Moroccan citizens.
The Midlands region, which includes Birmingham, Leicester and Coventry, is home to a growing and dynamic Moroccan community made up of professionals, entrepreneurs, students and young talents who contribute to the United Kingdom's economic, social and cultural development while maintaining strong ties to Morocco.
Through this initiative, the Consulate General of Morocco in London reaffirmed its commitment to deploying mobile consulates across other parts of the United Kingdom with significant Moroccan communities, with the aim of providing accessible, modern and efficient public services tailored to the needs of Moroccans living in the UK.
The consulate also thanked Moroccan associations, volunteers and local partners for contributing to the success of the operation, reaffirming its commitment to serving the Moroccan community with professionalism, availability and a spirit of proximity.
«The mobile consulate is one of several tools made available by the ministry to give concrete expression to the Royal vision of bringing consular services closer to our citizens, wherever they may be, particularly in the United Kingdom», said Morocco's Consul General in London, Mouad Ibriz.
He also praised the valuable role played by Moroccan associations, whose continued commitment and strong sense of public service help support Moroccan nationals abroad.
The Consulate General remains fully committed to maintaining smooth, continuous and lasting communication with these associations, based on trust, constructive dialogue and partnership, for the benefit of the Moroccan community, he added.
