A Moroccan donation of 1,000 tonnes of fertilizer was officially handed over to Panama during a ceremony attended by Panama's Minister of Agricultural Development, Roberto José Linares Tribaldos, and Morocco's ambassador to Panama, Bouchra Boudchich.

The ceremony, held on Monday at the headquarters of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture in Capira, in West Panama Province, was also attended by Carlos Guevara Mann, Panama's Vice Minister for Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the event, Linares Tribaldos thanked Morocco for the donation, describing it as a reflection of the strong cooperation between the two countries and part of a broader strategic partnership that includes the exchange of expertise, knowledge and Morocco's experience in the agricultural sector.

He said the fertilizer will be distributed exclusively to small-scale farmers, family farms and school gardens, helping to support family agriculture, boost agricultural productivity and strengthen the country's food security.

The minister added that his ministry will oversee the nationwide distribution of the fertilizer through a dedicated mechanism to ensure it reaches as many small producers as possible. Several beneficiaries attended the ceremony.

For her part, Boudchich said the donation marks «a new chapter in the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Panama». She added that it reflects Morocco's vision of diplomacy, which places South-South cooperation at the heart of its foreign policy through an approach based on solidarity, mutual respect, the exchange of expertise and the promotion of shared development opportunities.
