Morocco net FDI jumps 42 percent to 23 billion dirhams by May

Net foreign direct investment (FDI) flows reached 23.32 billion dirhams at the end of May, up 41.8% from a year earlier, according to the Foreign Exchange Office.

FDI receipts rose by 20% to 29.84 billion dirhams, while outflows fell by 22.5% to 6.52 billion dirhams, the Office said in its latest monthly bulletin on foreign trade indicators.

At the end of the first five months of 2023, net Moroccan direct investment abroad stood at 4.68 billion dirhams, compared with 2.16 billion dirhams over the same period a year earlier.

Sales of these investments amounted to 7 billion dirhams, up 13.6%, while related expenditures increased by 40.3% to 11.71 billion dirhams.
