King Mohammed VI «fully supports» the efforts made by the Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah to solve the ongoing diplomatic crisis affecting the Gulf countries relations, the Anadolu reports.
The king's statement was delivered by Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Tuesday 13th of June while received by Sheikh Sabah.
«In his message, the Moroccan king stressed the importance of containing the Gulf crisis and resolving differences through dialogue between brotherly countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council», Kuwait’s official news agency said today as reported by the Turkish news agency.
In a communiqué released on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that Nasser Bourita will meet Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan. The same release indicated that the Minister will deliver a «verbal message» on the behalf of King Mohammed VI.
Bourita arrived in Kuwait from Abu Dhabi on Tuesday in order to ease the tension between the Arab countries and contribute to the solving of the ongoing crisis.
On Monday, the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement calling allies in Ryad, Abu Dhabi and Manama to be aware of «some non-Arab parties that are trying to take advantage of this crisis to strengthen their position in the region and undermine the supreme interests of these countries». In a different press release issued by the same source, king Mohammed VI ordered to send food supplies to Qatar.
For the record, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Yemen and Egypt broke off relations with Qatar on Monday 5th of June, accusing it of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the region.
