During his visit to Morocco, the Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed alongside his Moroccan counterpart, Salah eddine Al Othmani announced in a joint-statement following the 19th session of the Tunisian-Moroccan High Joint Commission in Rabat that the two countries support a political solution to the crisis in Libya, ASHARQ AL-AWSAT reports.

The two politicians highlighted their states' will back and  accompany the Libyan people «in the path towards a comprehensive political settlement». The same source indicates that Morocco and Tunisia refuse a military option.

The two countries urged neighboring nations to «promote cooperation, consolidate dialogue and increase security cooperation in order to face terrorism according to an organized mechanism that aims at prioritizing common interests and rejecting all forms of introversion».

The commission presided by the Tunisian and Moroccan prime ministers discussed future bilateral cooperation and «signed 10 agreements in various sectors, including agriculture, investment, civil aviation, vocational training, higher education and employment».
