The Moroccan teenager responsible for the terror attack in Turku, Finland has been named by the Finnish police according to the Daily Mail. The alleged assailant who has been shot in the hip by the police after stabbing two people to death and injuring eight others on Friday, is an asylum-seeker called Abderrahman Mechkah.

The 18-year-old suspect's photos were displayed on the Scandinavian media during the weekend. According to the same source, Mechkah arrived to Finland last year. He was staying at an immigration center and his asylum application was recently rejected.

«He seemed isolated and sort of depressed. It was as if someone had taken something from him,» a man who knew Merkach told Turun Sanomat, a local newspaper, adding that «he seemed very alone. He often walks alone».

The police has attempted to question the suspect, but they are currently waiting for an interpreter. On the other hand, four other Moroccans were detained for being linked to Mechkah.
