Thales, a French multinational company that builds electrical systems and provides services for the aerospace, said it would inaugurate its industrial Competence Centre in Casablanca, a 3D metal printing plant, Arabian Aerospace reported today.

According to the same source, the «plant will become a platform allowing the international requirements of the group and its customers to be met». The Center is part of the Industrial Acceleration Plan 2014-2020 initiated by the government. The latter aims at developing an innovative ecosystem with the help of Thales and its local suppliers.

The new plant is «spread across an area of 1000 m², in the Midparc zone in Casablanca», states the same source adding that it will provide job opportunities for 20 engineers and technicians. The Competence Centre in Casablanca contains for the moment two selective melting technology machines and will be equipped in the medium-term with 10 other machines.

The technology to be used in the Casablanca plant is environmentally friendly and is meant to boost production.
