The Dutch Minister of Security and Justice Stef Blok said on Thursday in Rabat that it is extremely important to continue sharing experiences and knowledge with Morocco to fight against terrorism, both bilaterally and internationally, through the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum (GCTF).

Speaking at a workshop held on the 5th and 6th of October by the Dutch Institute in Morocco (NIMAR) and the Moroccan Center for Strategic Studies (CMES), and attended by Dutch and Moroccan researchers and experts, Mr Blok said that Morocco and the Netherlands share not only a common history but also joint challenges, notably with regard to radicalization issues and security, and make great efforts to intervene.

He underlined that it is important for the Netherlands and Morocco to combine their efforts and knowledge in the field of combating terrorism and radicalization.

He also spoke about the essential role of families and the social and religious environment, «which can help bring a person back on the right path and help him find his place in society».

While younger generations are more socially successful, they also have more difficulty with issues of identity, solidarity and the search for meaning, which makes them receptive to radical ideas, he said. still explained.
