Al Wydad Atlethic Club, a Moroccan football club based in Casablanca has won the Africa CAF Champions League Final held on Saturday 4th of November in Casablanca. The Casablanca red team secured its first CAF Champions League win since 1992 by scoring 2 aggregated goals in the two football matches against Al Ahly.
Walid El Karti, who plays as an attacking midfielder for the Wydad managed to put his team ahead against Al Ahly Sporting Club.
The Moroccan team won all six home matches en route to the final, including a 1-0 victory over defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
Celebration
By the end of the long-awaited match between the two African clubs, Wydad and Al Ahly, celebration began in the city of Casablanca. The loyal supporters of the red team took the streets celebrating and enjoying the victory that they kept waiting for.

Festivities took place, especially, in the medina and all along the beach of Ain Diab. It was a night without sleep for the Wydad supporters. Other Moroccan cities have also expressed their happiness and support to the Casablanca football club. Others from the Moroccan community in Paris where there also to congratulate and celebrate the victory accompanied by Moroccan musicians near the Arc de Triomphe.

King Mohammed VI spoke just after the victorious game to coach Houcine Ammouta and the team captain, Brahim Nekkach. The Sovereign has asked them to congratulate on his behalf all players, staff and supporters of the team which managed to reach this achievement a source of pride for the entire sporting public and all the Moroccan people.
