PRETTL, a German company that manufactures automotive sensors and coils and components, announced on Tuesday in Tangier that it is building a new plant in the city, investing 8 million Euros, reports MAP news agency.
According to data presented during the ceremony held to lay the foundation stone of the new automotive city, the plant is expected to provide 800 job opportunities, and will have the capacity to produce 30 million pieces in the long term.
The first part of this project, which will be built on a 26.000 m2 area, will be completed next year and is set to produce 15 million pieces, while the second part will be ready to operate in 2021, delivering the same capacity of production.
Speaking on this occasion, the managing director of the PRETTL group, Erhart Prettl, said «we have found in Morocco the potential and human resources we were looking for to meet the changes the automotive industry is faced with», focusing on the revolution that currently knows the industry of electric cars, batteries and digital technologies.
