Morocco «will keep making efforts to ensure» the extradition of Said Chaou, a Moroccan national living in the Netherlands who is accused of drug trafficking, said Friday the Minister of Justice, Mohamed Aujjar.

Speaking to MAP news agency, Aujjar pointed out that the Morocco have taken note of the step taken by the Dutch authorities. They have decided to appeal against the court’s decision regarding the extradition of Said Chaou, who is subjected to two international arrest warrants for smuggling.

The judicial authorities of the two countries are collaborating on the basis of the June 2017 agreement, in order to deliver the extradition request, said the Minister of Justice.

The court of Zelande West Brabant (south), which made its decision Thursday afternoon, did not respond favorably to Said Chaou's extradition which was requested by Morocco.

The Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice announced on 29th of June that the authorities had arrested Said Chaou.
