Three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) related to energy efficiency, trade promotion and financing of innovative projects were signed between Moroccan and American partners at the 4th Morocco-U.S. Trade Forum, held Thursday in Washington.

The first agreement, signed by the Moroccan Energy Efficiency Agency (AMEE) and the Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (IGSD), provides for strengthening research cooperation links for the development of air conditioning systems using reduced-GWP refrigerants, and identifying ways to better calculate and compare the carbon dioxide equivalent between emissions of greenhouse refrigerants and those from fossil fuels used by air conditioners.

The second MoU, signed by SEAF Morocco (Small Enterprise Assistance Funds), the Caisse Centrale de Garantie (CCG), the American Wise Capital, and the BMCE Bank group, aims to mobilize the resources of the Morocco Growth Fund (SMGF), an investment fund whose strategy is to invest in innovative companies based in Morocco and which have strong growth potential.

The initiative will make it possible to invest in "3Dental", an innovative Moroccan company specializing in solutions for digital dental surgery. The enterprise has developed a complete surgical system using a patented medical device, 3D surgical planning software and 3D printing technology to help dentists perform safer, less invasive, faster and more accurate implant surgeries.

The third agreement concerns the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in which the two organizations agree to pursue their common goal of supporting the strengthening of trade relations between the two countries.

Under this agreement, the two parties undertake to promote business partnerships between Moroccan and U.S. companies and to increase trade by taking advantage of the Free Trade Agreement binding Morocco and the United States.
