Denmark’s Minister for Immigration Inger Støjberg, urged Muslims, Monday 21st of May, to take time off work during Ramadan, insisting that fasting and working is «dangerous for all of us», reports Le Vif.

The politician, known for her anti-immigration views, wrote in a column for the BT tabloid : «I want to call on Muslims to take leave from work during the month of Ramadan to avoid negative consequences for the rest of Danish society».

«I wonder if a religious order commanding observance to a 1,400-year-oldpillar of Islam is compatible with the society and labor market that we havein Denmark in 2018».

For the minister, fasting can affect «safety and productivity», especially for bus drivers who, according to her, «have neither had a drink nor eaten for more than 10 hours».
