Moroccan footballer Ayoub El Kaabi has joined Hebei China Fortune F.C. in a two-year deal for US$7 million leaving Moroccan club Renaissance Berkane, says the BBC on Wednesday.

«Ayoub had many offers, but we picked up the Hebei offer», the Moroccan club said on its Facebook page, adding that «he will now play alongside stars like Ezequiel Lavezzi, Javier Mascherano and Gervinho».

Kaabi who has recently participated to the 2018 World Cup with the Atlas Lions, has become notorious for his performance at this year’s African Nations Championship.

The 25-year-old striker was expected to accept a move from Egyptian club Zamalek but instead has went for the Chinese side, says the same source.

El Kaabi joined Berkane in summer 2017 after a transfer from Racing de Casablanca.
