Rendered by the court of Mostaganem, the verdict against 26 Saharawi from the Polisario camps was highly criticized in Tindouf. On Tuesday, pro-Polisario online newspaper Futuro Sahara roasted the Front’s leadership and the Algerian justice.

The 26 men were arrested and convicted for belonging to a criminal gang. This week, the court of Mostaganem fined and sentenced them to four years of prison.

«The case makes us think of the misfortunes of the Saharawi people and of how they treated by the Algerian justice which does not recognize the decisions of the Saharawi authorities nor the Saharawi customs», Futuro Sahara wrote on Tuesday 31st.

For the platform close to Mohamed Lamine Ould Bouhali, the Algerian authorities do not «understand the suffering and the difficult conditions imposed on Saharawis who sell imported vehicles to escape unemployment».

«Our allies do not consider us as a state but rather as citizens with no country, although the largest embassy of SADR is in Algiers», said the same source. The latter claims that Sahrawis pay large sums for Algerian officials as bribes, when «but law only applies to the Saharawi part».
