Eid al-Adha : The measures taken by the National Office of Food Safety

«The measures taken this year have allowed Moroccans to spend Eid al-Adha in good conditions», said the Ministry of Agriculture said Tuesday in a communiqué sent to Yabiladi.

According to the same source, the National Office of Food Safety received 3,300 phone calls from the period between Eid al-Adha and Saturday, 25th of August. 900 of the people who called were able to advised and guided, regarding their sacrificed animals.

Meanwhile, veterinary services visited 400 families throughout the country to inquire their mutton meat and reassure them, after receiving their complaints.

«Veterinary services checked up 2,600 carcasses and their viscera to make sure they were edible».

50 cases are currently being examined by ONSSA, added the same statement.

The ministry concludes by ensuring that ONSSA «is closely following the results of the various registered cases and will take the necessary legal measures».
