Morocco’s Royal Navy rescues 615 migrants carried by 31 boats

Morocco’s Royal Navy said on Monday, 8th of October, that it rescued 615 migrants, who were trying to reach Spain through the Mediterranean, during the weekend, says Le Figaro.

These migrants were carried by 31 boats that were stuck in the sea. On Sunday, the Spanish coastguard announced that it rescued 1,200 migrants in 48 hours in the Mediterranean.

The migrants rescued by the Moroccan authorities were «brought safely back to Morocco», added the same source, quoting a statement published by MAP news agency.
