The Royal Navy has rescued 140 would-be immigrants in the Mediterranean in the last 24 hours, said Thursday a military source.

Over the past 24 hours, Royal Navy units on patrol in the Mediterranean have assisted several boats in difficulty and saved 140 people, mainly sub-Saharans, including women and children, according to the same source.

It added that the rescued migrants were all safely brought back to the Kingdom's Mediterranean ports.
