A man with dual British and Swiss citizenship was arrested Thursday (January 10) in Morocco in connection with the murder of the two Scandinavian tourists, indicates online media Swissinfo.ch.
The Swiss Federal Police (Fedpol) has indeed confirmed the announcement of this arrest, first published by news website Le360. The extent of his role in the murders has not yet been revealed.
According to Le360, the suspect was arrested in Temara by the Central Bureau for Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) for his alleged "contacts" with ISIS militants. The man was living in Morocco and had not been returning to Switzerland recently, Fedpol said.
For the record, on December 29, the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) arrested a Swiss-Spanish man living in Morocco. He is suspected of links to suspects among those arrested in connection with the anti-terrorism investigation into the double murder of the two Scandinavian tourists near Imlil.
