The US Department of State has warned, in a revised travel advisory, against «terrorist groups» carrying possible attacks in Sri Lanka, where 290 people were killed and 500 others injured in a series of terror attacks that targeted churches and hotels on Sunday.
According to Reuters, the US Department of State said that terrorists «may attack with little or no warning». These possible attacks may target tourist locations, transportation hubs, shopping centers, hotels, places of worship, airports and other public places.
On Sunday, several explosions rocked churches and a hotel in the country, killing mostly worshipers who were celebrating mass this particular Sunday during religious holidays.
Yesterday, the Sri Lankan government announced the arrest of eight individuals in connection with the attacks.
