Moroccan students from Rabat and Fes managed to build two small satellites that will be launched into space to study the ozone layer and climate change, KSF Space Foundation which supports small satellite missions announced.

In a communiqué sent Monday to Yabiladi, the foundation said that the two Moroccan small satellites will be launched in May, alongside other satellites built by students from India, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

These students are from the National School of Computer Science and Systems Analysis in the Mohammed V University in Rabat and the Private University of Fez.

The Moroccan universities participating in this event will work alongside other universities to analyze scientific data compiled by small satellites, in collaboration with IFGICT (International Federation of Global & Green Information Communication Technology).

For the record, that it is the second time, that Morocco, through the ENSIAS, participates to such an event, which is a first in the Arab world. The first time took place in 2018 in Mexico.
