Direct flights between the Philippines and Morocco will soon be opened after the Ministry of Transport (DOTr) of this insular state signed an agreement with Moroccan officials.
According to the Global Nation media, the Moroccan ministry and officials met at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Rabat on 4 and 5 September to seal an Air Services Agreement (ASA).
In a statement, the Department of the Philippines said the agreement would pave the way for the respective carriers of the two countries to «mount daily flights to and from each other’s territory, which will result in a further increase in tourism figures and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, and boost economic and social relations».
The two parties also signed a memorandum of understanding that will grant «full third and fourth freedom traffic rights for both passenger and cargo, and setting out other operational details for their respective designated carriers», the media concludes.
