100 Moroccans living in China who had announced earlier in January that they wanted to return to Morocco amid the coronavirus health crisis will be repatriated, Saturday.
According to French-language newspaper Medias24, the plane took off from Casablanca on Friday and it is expected to land in Wuhan after stopovers in Moscow and Beijing.
The same plane is expected to land in Meknes via Novosibirsk and Moscow. According to the same source, nationals repatriated following royal instructions will be admitted into the military hospital of Meknes for health purposes.
On Monday, King Mohammed VI ordered the evacuation of Moroccans who have said before in videos that they would rather return to Morocco amid the deadly virus outbreak. In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, national carrier RAM has also suspended its flights linking Casablanca to Beijing.
