Moroccan coronavirus evacuees flown back to Morocco from Wuhan, China, earlier in February, are expected to leave quarantine on Saturday.

According to one of the 167 Moroccans, who is at a military hospital in Rabat, the quarantine imposed on them is expected to end on February 22. The Wuhan-based Moroccan told Yabiladi, Friday, that the evacuees will be able to go home Saturday, after they have been quarantined for 20 days.

«Everyone is safe and sound», the same source said, adding that he is in contact with the Moroccan evacuees in Meknes. According to him, «some of the evacuees will have to return to China once the travel ban is lifted».

«Our work and our life is there. We cannot just drop everything», he told Yabiladi. «Some of us will return once the Chinese authorities open airports», the same source added.

A well-informed source confirmed to Yabiladi that the quarantine would end tomorrow.

For the record, Moroccans living in Wuhan were repatriated on February 2 following the instructions of King Mohammed VI. The sovereign chaired, on January 27, a working session devoted to the situation of these nationals living in Wuhan, the epicenter of the new Coronavirus, which was quarantined by the Chinese authorities.

The Chinese Ministry of Health announced, Friday, that the death toll from the outbreak now stands at 2,247. Several other states, such as the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Iran, have announced detected cases.

Several Chinese universities have announced that they will launch online classes for students, especially foreigners who were repatriated to their countries.
