Morocco : No coronavirus case recorded at the International University of Rabat

The International University of Rabat (UIR) announced, Wednesday evening, that there was no coronavirus case recorded among its students. "Following the various reports relayed on social media related to a possible Covid-19 case contracted by one of its students, the International University of Rabat would like to inform all stakeholders that there was no confirmed case of Covid-19 at the UIR", read a communiqué sent by the educational institution to Yabiladi.

"For more information, it is advised to contact the Moroccan sanitary authorities", the statement concludes.

Earlier in the day, an internal memo sent to students mentioned that there was a student with "fever symptoms", who had been to "a private trip to the United States".

"As a preventive measure, the International University of Rabat has informed the health authorities to carry out the necessary tests", the memo read.

A containment measure was put in place before it was lifted.

For the record, the Health ministry confirmed, Wednesday, on its Facebook page that no coronavirus case has been recorded so far in Morocco, adding that the 17 suspected cases have all tested negative.
