Health authorities announced, Wednesday, Morocco’s sixth coronavirus case. The patient is a French-Senegalese woman who came from France on March 6 and landed in the city of Fes.

After she showed respiratory symptoms, the 64-year-old woman, who suffers from chronical diseases, went for a check out on March 7.

The woman tested positive for the virus and was admitted to a hospital by the sanitary authorities, the Ministry said in a press release.

Earlier on Wednesday, two confirmed coronavirus cases were recorded in the country. According to the health authorities, the two patients are the wife and daughter of the French tourist, who tested positive earlier this week for the virus.

The health authorities quarantined the two patients two days before they underwent the tests that confirmed their infection.

On Tuesday, Morocco announced the first death linked to the virus. The deceased patient is an 89-year-old woman who travelled to Italy and was diagnosed with the virus days after landing in Casablanca.

In addition to the French tourist, the virus also infected a Moroccan national who travelled to Italy in February. In a press release, the health authorities said that the two men are in a «stable condition».
