The ministry of Health has recommended the continuity of children's immunization during the national health crisis of COVID-19, noting that any delay may increase the risk of contracting preventable diseases.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry informs public opinion, especially parents and guardians of children that despite the current situation immunization activities for children are being maintained in the Kingdom's health centers and in private medical practices.
The same source considers the activity of immunizing children and infants as one of the priority essential services for the prevention of communicable diseases by introducing organizational and preventive measures to protect children, parents and health workers against this epidemic, in accordance with the procedures in force.
The ministry also points out that any delay in immunization, even for a short period of time, may increase the risk of contracting vaccine-preventable diseases, calling on parents and guardians of children and infants to adhere to immunization dates in accordance with the schedule.
