Saturday, April 25, is the first day of Ramadan in Morocco, according to the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs. The latter announced, Thurday, that the new moon was not sighted, adding that Friday is the last day of the Islamic month of Shaaban.

On Thursday, several countries sighted the crescent moon of Ramadan whereas several others relied on astronomical calculations, announcing that the sacred month is to begin on Friday for most countries and Saturday for others.
