France, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon and Iraq announced the start of Ramadan on Tuesday April 13.
While several countries will observe the new crescent moon on Thursday, others have already announced the first day of Ramadan.
While stepping on the Moon for the first time, members of the Apollo 11 mission left a message of 73 leaders on the satellite. The message included a statement of King Hassan II, in which he saluted «the great brotherhood of men».
During the weekend, several countries around the world will be observing the new moon to determine the first day of Ramadan for 2019.
